Restoring a Historic Performance Stage for the Next Generation of Artists
Located on the University of Colorado Boulder campus, Macky Auditorium is one of the region’s most recognized performing arts venues. In 2024, 2nd Gen Hardwood was selected to refinish approximately 4,000 square feet of original maple stage flooring, restoring the appearance of the surface while maintaining the character and functionality required for live performances, events, and productions.

The project included a complete refinishing process and custom color development to achieve the desired appearance while respecting the existing maple flooring. Careful attention was given to creating a consistent finish across the entire stage surface, ensuring the space remained ready for performers, audiences, and university events.
